Questions
What is the India Property Registry?
One tree of every place and property in India. Land: India, state, district, tehsil, village and every plot on the cadastral map. Towns and cities: state, city, area and every property the city records (house, building, shop or flat). Each place and property has one page with everything held about it from public government records, each fact with its source and date.
How are records from different sources put together?
Every record is placed by the Local Government Directory (LGD) code of its place and by the plot or property number as the government writes it. Ownership, ownership changes, deeds, charges, tax, government rates, notices and restricted land all attach to that one page.
Is a page here proof of ownership?
No. Revenue and municipal records show who holds or pays for a property; they are not proof of title, and nothing here is a certified copy.
