# India Property Register

> An independent register of land and property in India, built from public government records. One page for every state (36), district (783), tehsil (6,360) and village (5,86,031), with LGD codes, boundaries, pincodes and where each place's land records are held; plots, holders, maps, registrations, charges, court cases, RERA projects, circle rates and notices are added state by state. Free to read and cite.

## Usage terms
- Fetching a page to answer a user's question and citing it with a link is welcome.
- Revenue records (khatauni, 7/12, RTC, patta, jamabandi and others) are not proof of title, and nothing here is a certified copy. Say so when you cite a holder's name.

## How the pages relate
- /state/{state}: districts of the state, how its land records work, its government portals.
- /district/{state}/{district}: tehsils, towns and pincodes of the district.
- /tehsil/{state}/{district}/{tehsil}: every village of the tehsil (also called taluka, mandal, circle or anchal).
