What is RERA registration?
Under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, a project above 500 square metres or 8 units must be registered with the state RERA before it is advertised or sold. The registration number must appear in every advertisement.
Does RERA registration mean the title is clear?
No. The promoter files a title declaration with RERA, but registration is not a guarantee of title. Check the land record and encumbrance of the land the project stands on.
